Opinion
A Smartphone affects our lives greatly and in many ways. It affects almost every activity I do. It saves me tons of money first of all, from not needing to buy an alarm clock to not needing a music player since it’s already built in. Secondly, it saves a lot of time. I don’t need to go on a computer to check social media, look up a question, or check the weather for the morning; it’s all accessible through an application or internet on the Smartphone. Also, it’s very efficient as I can store all my pictures and music on it instead of using a hard drive. So a Smartphone takes up much less space than usual. It organizes my life too, by keeping events in check with reminders, contacts, and alerts.
These are all good things though, but there’s also bad impacts in my daily life. It affects me by inhibiting my physical social interactions with people. Instead of going over someone’s house to talk, or asking them to meet me somewhere to see them; I just text message them behind a screen. It makes it easier to stay inside, but keeps people away from being socially physical. Also it encourages a stereotype and language in my daily life. Nowadays everyone has a twitter or Facebook, and people don’t even know how to talk anymore in real life from acting like a different person behind a screen and not being as aware of what they are saying. On the same hand of negative things; it poses a health threat in my daily life. People are on their phones all the time in cars, increasing accidents way more. Especially as teens are getting onto the road. We’ve become reliant on such a physically small piece of technology for so many things.
If the product went away, just magically, it would be chaos. People would be so unorganized by not knowing how to contact people, not being reminded of a 4:30 PM appointment, and by not being in contact with the media world. People would need to actually go on a computer to find something out, or call a person to ask them something; so in ways it could be positive by making people actually do something. But the simple pleasures guaranteed by a Smartphone would be missed. My music wouldn’t be in my hand, I would have to spend more money on each device that my Smartphone would usually mimic, I’d be unaware of daily facts like the weather or news, and life in general would be harder; in a first world perspective.

Personal Opinion
We believe smartphones should be used, but in moderation. Smartphones have made life a whole lot easier and convenient. However, they have some terrible consequences. Excess use of smartphones if you apply evolution to it will lead to our descendants having lower mental capabilities. Smartphones also have more radiation than basic phones. People say that the smarter the phone, the more radiation. Excessive smartphone use would also lead to social problems. Its just plain rude to stay on your smartphone when somebody is talking to you. Even though smartphones may seem to give us more liberties. In the long run, smartphones will be the cause of us having less freedom. Governments can track us down everywhere we are. Some people now can even hack the camera on your phone. Smartphones are even some people's wallet too now. You can sync your credit card with them. This is bad if someone steals your phone or someone hacks it. Smartphones should continue to exist with moderation. People should not completely rely on them meaning they should be able to live without.
